Volume #4; The Unsupportive supporters, Exit of Curtis and Improvement.

Following the performance at Kiddy was never going to be easy. It was superb in every way. The Terras flew out the blocks scoring from a penalty won by a challenge on Williams, who made the most of the challenge. Beavon waited to see which way the keeper dived and then put it in the other side. His second goal, I’m not to shore on. Was it a lob or deflection? Who cares it went in! Coutts was defiantly over the line when he touched it, so it is either Beavon’s goal or a own goal. Philips was clearly off-side for his goal, unless the ball came to him from a deflection. It was good to see him scoring back at the Wessex. I hope the goals can flow between him and Beavon. They really seem to be a good partnership after the two games I have seen them play together they were superb.
Earlier in today’s press, it revealed that Beavon was in “preliminary talks” with the glovers. Also he attended a game between them and Leicester earlier this week. Now this could just be innocent “buttering up.” Yeovil are the highest ranked team after Beavon. He has been linked with all the non-league heavyweights (Oxford, Cambridge and Torquay) and League 2 side Bournemouth. If he wants to further his career he will go to the highest club available to him, Yeovil. This obviously wouldn’t go down too well with the Terras faithful, moving to WFC’s most historic rival. But I do doubt highly that he would be hated for it. Some people will hate him for it but it is clear that he is a player that is too good for this level and they will see him moving on and up and give him their blessing wherever he goes. When he came over to the Carlsberg end and applauded the fans on his own, it seemed to me that he was saying goodbye. I got a text from someone after the game saying that he has already signed a deal with Yeovil. It will be interesting  to see the press next week to see the developments. I did predict a few week ago that he could easily play for at League 2 level and I did mention that Yeovil could be interested in him. I still stand by my statement that Lee Philips has been bought in the replace him. I think we will lose the beaver but I really hop I’m wrong.
It would really be a shame to lose Beavon at this stage. The current squad we have at the minute is the best I have ever seen. It would be a real shame for this very good squad to brake up because of the backroom comedy. It really is a comedy four chairmen in five years is just preposterous. Now the main event this week has been the exit of the controversial Malcolm Curtis. I will be open to you. I haven’t really hated Malcolm Curtis since the beginning. When he first came in I thought OK this bloke seems alright. He talks a good game but can he pull it off. As time went on I became continually more sceptical. It turns out the club is losing money left, right and centre. The Club is now without a major asset that was worth a heck of a lot of money. I now have to say that I have been converted by the internet tossers how just wouldn’t lie down. They did seem to be right in the end. Now with the shares handed over to holding company, I hope - like all - that the situation can get sorted out soon. But it has been dragging on for a while so something is clearly up.                        Now Curtis has gone and the over 60 concession has been reinstated, the crowd will now raise. This was clear with the 1100+ crowd on Saturday. Long may it continue. I personally think that WFC should go to the schools and offer the kids a higher discount for the more of them that come through the door. This would get the future supporters of the club through the door. I also feel that the under 16, Concession and Adult prices should be dropped to £3.50, £7.00 and £11.00 respectively. This would get more people through the door. Getting people through the door has to be the aim and then build on from there.
My final point is unsupportive supporters. At the game on Saturday there were a few kill joys. All we are trying to do is get things going. The Wessex is a really shit place when it is quiet and boring because no-one can be bothered to start anything. Quite frankly it is like a graveyard. Now I find it bloody stupid that people will mock us and say “SAY IS THAT FUCKING IT?” mate you do better, because I don’t see you trying very hard. If anything they are trying to be intimidating. A better Wessex means more people coming through the door. More money and the faster we get out of this predicament. Now if you want to scare the future generation of Terras supporter off then fair enough to you. But what is the point of saving the Terras if there is no future support for it?
